The Andaz Prague is a luxurious 5-star lifestyle hotel from the Hyatt Group, located in the heart of Prague. Funnily enough, it is located in a neo-baroque building, the so-called “Sugar Palace”.

The room

I had booked the cheapest standard room with a king-size bed without breakfast at the time of booking.

First of all, the cleanliness and housekeeping of the suite was impressive. Hats off to the team!

The suite was at least 50 square meters and consisted of two rooms, the bedroom and the separate living area, in addition to the bathroom.

As usual in (almost) every Andaz hotel, the minibar is well stocked with non-alcoholic drinks and is replenished every day. Special drink requests, e.g. for me to swap an apple drink for a sugar-free cola due to an allergy, were implemented within minutes. Grade 1!

In the living area, the sofa and armchair at the coffee table offer relaxing minutes, while the large TV with streaming function helped out when needed for chilling out.

The bathroom had everything you would expect from a 5-star hotel. The free-standing bathtub, a rain shower, two washbasins with organic care products and plenty of space provide a great ambience for refreshing or restoring your own body.

The restaurants

The ZEM restaurant (LINK) offers fusion cuisine that combines Czech cuisine with Japanese Izakaya elements in a very tasty way. As ZEM is very popular with hotel guests and Prague locals alike, you should make a reservation. ZEM restaurant with its style “coffee house meets 1920” is a clear recommendation from me!

The MEZ Bar (LINK) right next door offers, among other things, quite creative cocktails inspired by Czech-Bohemian legends. Try cocktails like the Getaway, the Breakthrough or the Socially Digital 😉 I really like it when venues incorporate the culture of their region or country into their offerings and present it with pride.

The high-quality and healthy breakfast was offered in the bar area as a combination of a rich buffet and à la carte dishes such as avocado bread or fresh, sinfully delicious waffles. Gluten-free bread, plant-based milks, vegan spreads and other vegan or vegetarian treats are of course also available at the buffet and on request.

Coffee specialties are freshly prepared with different types of milk depending on guest requirements and brought directly to the table. The service was always extremely attentive and quick.

The costs

I booked the Andaz Prague through my booking partner Suitespot. Suitespot allows you to book special rates from hotel chains that include one or more services in the price of the room in addition to the room itself. On this trip, the King View room in the hotel cost me EUR 195.00 per night and all the benefits, including the option to eat out for EUR 50.00 per day, were included without any problems. There was also an upgrade to an Andaz Suite 😉

In this case, the advantages of the Andaz Prague booked via the Hyatt Privé Rate include the following points:

  • Daily complimentary breakfast for two
  • 100 USD hotel credit for food & drinks
  • Welcome gift
  • Early check-in / late check-out (subject to availability)
The rating in BEN (maximum 10 BEN achievable)

Location / hotel surroundings: 9 BEN (very central, just a few minutes’ walk from Wenceslas Square or Charles Bridge (20 minutes’ walk) and therefore perfect for sightseeing and Prague nightlife)
Rooms / facilities: 10 BEN (a very modern suite with Czech elements and a very comfortable bed and a bathroom that leaves nothing to be desired)
Restaurant: 9 BEN (dinner in the ZEM Restaurant)
Breakfast: 9 BEN (for breakfast and the selection menu in the bar area of the MEZ Bar)

The nearest Starbucks

The nearest Starbucks is about a 7-minute walk away and is located in the Palladium Shopping Center on Námestí Republiky (also a metro station).
